Our goal is to discover the neural signals and circuits that underlie reward learning, motivation, and decision making so that we can capitalize on this information to understand and treat the maladaptive motivation and decision making that characterizes substance use disorder and psychiatric diseases. We take a multidisciplinary approach to our research, combining behavioral procedures rooted in the rich traditions of learning theory with advanced neural recording, interference, and/or molecular methods. We work together as a team to learn, grow, and make impactful discoveries. We work to ensure that everyone can benefit from and thrive in science.
Science needs everyone. Everyone deserves science.
